Abstract
This work introduces U-Stucco as a new construction material in Chile with interesting characteristics for the industry, such as the ability to thermally insulate a dwelling, repel moisture, and isolate sound, among others. The purpose of promoting U-Stucco is to quantify, evaluate, and confirm if it is a viable product within the construction sector for residential projects. Throughout the development of the work, topics related to climate change, well-being, and people's quality of life are addressed, as well as the costs associated with installation and climate control. The evaluation and analysis of these topics are based on three variables: cost, time, and quality. The calculations performed on U-Stucco, as indicated in the work, are carried out based on the application of the material in the building project located in Curauma, Valparaíso. This building has six floors and a basement, and the application of U-Stucco is considered on the facade directly in contact with the apartments. Prior to calculating costs, time, and quality, the maximum thermal transmittance and minimum thermal resistance required for the project are defined according to the NCh1079 standard of 2008 on thermal zoning and Article 4.1.10 of the General Ordinance of Urbanism and Construction. Following this, the minimum thickness to be applied is calculated based on NCh853 of 2007 on the calculation of thermal resistances and transmittances. The cost variable is developed through two scenarios(...).
