Abstract
This study presents the development of an improvement plan aimed at increasing the efficiency of a wine bottling line. The need for this work arises from the finding that the line exhibited a cumulative OEE of 69 % during the second half of 2024, a figure below the expected level given the line’s capacities. This performance reveals time losses, operational bottlenecks, variability in station yields associated with bottle formats, and opportunities for improvement in the quality of inputs. In response to this problem, the study provides a comprehensive perspective on production process management through the application of Lean Six Sigma tools, in combination with other continuous improvement methodologies such as TPM, as well as statistical capability analysis (Cp y Cpk) conducted using Minitab Statistical Software 22. The analysis revealed that several stations operate with Cp and Cpk indices below 1, confirming process instability and the need for corrective interventions. In addition, discrete-event simulation was carried out using SIMIO software. This work is distinguished by combining a detailed diagnosis of the current situation with the evaluation of a simulated baseline model, thereby providing a solid technical foundation for strategic decision-making by the company(...).
