Abstract
This business plan outlines the development of AgroPred, a Chilean AgTech startup focused on avocado cultivation. The core problem addressed is the decline in avocado productivity and fruit quality due to water scarcity, climate variability, pests, and soil degradation, all exacerbated by a lack of precise information and specialized technologies. AgroPred proposes a comprehensive solution based on a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) web platform that integrates in-field instrumentation with Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) models. The platform provides real-time monitoring of critical variables such as soil moisture, temperature, and nutrient levels, along with climatic data. It leverages predictive models to alert on disease risks, optimize irrigation and nutrition, and efficiently manage farm resources (human resources, inputs, and machinery), all with the goal of increasing avocado yield and quality. Unlike fragmented solutions in the market, AgroPred distinguishes itself through its holistic approach and specialization in avocado cultivation within the Chilean context. The economic evaluation projected over three years demonstrates exceptional financial viability, with a Net Present Value (NPV) of USD $3.031.283, an Internal Rate of Return (IRR) of 320%, and a payback period within Year 2, positioning it as a highly profitable and sustainable business opportunity.
