Abstract
In this thesis, the Fraud Prevention methodology is developed. The main objective of this research is to develop a business-focused methodological solution for insurance fraud prevention, leveraging current technological trends. The Double Diamond methodology was decided to guide the development of this project. In the first stage of the model, called Discover, a thorough analysis of the insurance market and the challenges associated with fraud was conducted, analyzing its impact and identifying opportunities for improvement that will serve as the basis for the proposed methodology. In the Define stage, the opportunities were thoroughly examined with an expert team to select the most relevant ones, and some important parameters for the creation of the methodology were also defined. Subsequently, in the Develop stage, anti-fraud solutions are designed to solve industry problems. These solutions are also included in the methodology. The development of the methodology consists of two parts: a framework and the implementation stages. Finally, in the Delivery stage, the proposed methodology is validated with experts, ensuring its applicability, adaptability, and associated value in different industries as well as within NTT Data. The results revealed that implementing a comprehensive methodological approach allows for a ground-up organization of work, improving project resource allocation and enabling the timely implementation of fraud detection solutions. In conclusion, this work contributes to various industries fighting fraud by proposing an innovative methodology, providing a basis for future research and development in the area. Finally, it contributes to product design, as the methodology is the result of a comprehensive design process coupled with well-founded design decisions.
