Abstract
This work presents a proposal to improve the performance of maintenance management in a manufacturing company of thermoplastic products for fluid transport and storage solutions, through the integration of maintenance software. In the theoretical framework, a review of maintenance management literature is conducted, examining the most relevant theories, practices and trends in the field and establishing a proposed maintenance management model to be used as an outline. A classification of the current maintenance management maturity levels in the industry is identified and the available tools that allow the proposed scheme to be used to optimize maintenance management are presented. On the other hand, the maintenance information management systems (CMMS) are investigated, presenting their general capabilities, the characteristics that justify the acquisition and the implementation considerations. Next, a diagnosis of the current situation of maintenance management in the company is made, identifying the performance gaps in reference to the current state of world-class maintenance management. An exhaustive analysis is carried out on the organization of the Maintenance Area and its existing processes, which concludes that the company is on its way to the consolidation of level 2 maturity of maintenance management determined in the theoretical framework, presenting features regarding task execution, maintenance planning and use of work orders through the CMMS, and without development in advanced areas indicated in the higher levels, such as cost optimization, implementation of CMB, RCM and TPM type maintenance, and inventory management.
