Abstract
This exploratory thesis proposes the development of a methodological tool designed for architects to investigate natural contexts in search of inspiration within the framework of biomimicry. The proposal systematizes ecosystem interactions through a study environment called a ‘microworld’, which integrates various scales of analysis. Each level has a specific methodology and results that facilitate cross-sectional and parallel research between the biological and architectural systems. Using a comparative method, the tool defines relevant research areas and design guidelines that not only assist architects in their creative work, but also position biomimicry as a rigorous research mechanism for the discipline.
