Abstract
This thesis contains the analysis of the voluntary pension savings fund in Chile between 2003 and 2014, developing a qualitative and quantitative study of people who hold this type of savings. This savings system is a complement to the holder of the existing associations (AFP) pension funds in the country, characterized among other things, to have tax incentives that only people affiliated with this system can choose. In order to explain the variation in the number of voluntary pension savings accounts in Chile, fifteen exogenous variables are used. Using the method of multiple regression and using statistical analysis (SPSS) software, it will explain this behavior to carry out an analytical process from start to finish, allowing for better decision-making in this sense. After the development and analysis of the calculations, it seems that this system of voluntary savings, with the explanatory variables used, does not have a high correspondence, so it can be concluded that this system of savings goes through economic decisions of a personal nature; for example the savings habits of people. This has been true since its inception and over time a growing and booming industry, due to those people who have a voluntary pension savings fund, applying more a sense of security for their old age in such a way to maintain similar incomes to when they were in the labor force.
