Abstract
The following work focuses on to increase the OAE of the packaging plant in Beiersdorf Chile, reducing the time incurred in the changeover, in a specific packaging line. A wide variety of products are packaged within this line, therefore, to achieve this it involves altering the configuration of the equipment, changing parts and equipment. In principle, this work will research data that justifies that the main problem is located in a specific packaging line, and that the greatest loss of value is given by the format changes. Based on this analysis, based on the Lean philosophy, it is concluded that the implementation of SMED would be the best tool to help improve the productivity KPI of the packaging line studied. This tool will be implemented under the DMAIC methodology, which will allow carrying out the SMED implementation in a systematic way. The results of the implementation meet its objective, reducing average changeover times from 125 to 62 minutes average. This gain translates into an average increase of 5 OAE points. Finally, under the structure of the control stage, control and standardization proposals are made, to give the present project a sustainable character and oriented to continuous improvement.
