Abstract
El capital humano es parte de una organización, cuya efectividad está directamente vinculada al liderazgo dentro del equipo de trabajo. Siendo el líder quien cumple el rol de guiar y coordinar al personal, este además debe poseer una combinación de capacidades, conocimientos y habilidades para ejercer su liderazgo de manera eficaz. La formación del líder es un tema controversial, pues autores plantean que las destrezas para ejercer este papel se adquieren por genética, y otros proponen que se logra a través del desarrollo y la experiencia. El propósito de la investigación es buscar la formación del líder, para ello, se enfatiza el desarrollo de estos profesionales en la educación superior, para proporcionarle a aquellos con interés en asumir roles de liderazgo no solo una base técnica sino además las capacidades necesarias para ejercerlo. Para ello, este estudio consiste en realizar una encuesta a los alumnos de Ingeniería Comercial de la Federico Santa María, con el fin de analizar sus capacidades, sus experiencias y sus habilidades que tengan con relación a un líder. Es decir, con las respuestas recopiladas, se busca obtener una comparación entre las habilidades de los estudiantes y las habilidades de un líder, así también sus opiniones con respecto al rol de formación que tiene actualmente la institución. Esta investigación tiene el propósito de afirmar si las universidades deben desarrollar su rol para la formación de habilidades blandas y además busca analizar el plan de estudios con respecto al perfil profesional del ingeniero comercial. En síntesis, el estudio busca las similitudes entre un líder y un estudiante de Ingeniería Comercial, ya que, la universidad busca preparar a estos estudiantes de la UTFSM con la capacidad de liderar organizaciones.
Human capital is part of an organization, whose effectiveness is directly linked to leadership within the work team. Being the leader who fulfills the role of guiding and coordinating the staff, he/she must also possess a combination of skills, knowledge and abilities to exercise his/her leadership effectively. The formation of the leader is a controversial issue, as authors propose that the skills to exercise this role are acquired by genetics, and others propose that it is achieved through development and experience. The purpose of the research is to seek the formation of the leader, for this, the development of these professionals in higher education is emphasized, to provide those interested in assuming leadership roles not only a technical basis but also the necessary skills to exercise it. For this purpose, this study consists of conducting a survey to the students of Commercial Engineering at Federico Santa Maria, in order to analyze their abilities, experiences and skills they have in relation to a leader. That is, with the responses collected, we seek to obtain a comparison between the students' skills and the skills of a leader, as well as their opinions regarding the training role that the institution currently has. This research has the purpose of affirming whether universities should develop their role for the formation of soft skills and also seeks to analyze the curriculum with respect to the professional profile of the commercial engineer. In summary, the study looks for similarities between a leader and a Commercial Engineering student, since the university seeks to prepare these UTFSM students with the ability to lead organizations.
