Abstract
The care of National Parks in our country is essential to ensure the conservation of ecosystems, protect biodiversity and preserve the richness of its flora and fauna. Due to this, the role that park rangers fulfill and the working conditions they have within the National Parks are essential to carry out their work in the best possible way. La Campana National Park is located in Valparaíso Region and it’s a part of the La Campana-Peñuelas Biosphere Reserve and is one of the most representative areas of flora and fauna in the central zone of the country. Currently the Park stands out for being a priority protected area for tourism development. In this way, park rangers contribute to the effective protection of the natural and cultural values contained in this protected wilderness area and its local environment. Among the problems of park rangers in La Campana National Park, the absence of a shelter or habitable element at the top of the hill stands out, which allows them to carry out their various activities and stay at the top in case of emergencies. The objective is to resolve the basic infrastructure for park rangers at the summit of Cerro La Campana. For this, a shelter is proposed, which manages to provide better facilities and working conditions for the park rangers, accommodating their stay on the hill during emergencies and for work related to research, complying with all the necessary requirements to be able to remain in this refuge. The refuge will consider the needs of park rangers, while being sympathetic to the terrain and nature, being able to adapt to the context and weather conditions. This facility will allow users to stay on top of the hill without the need.
