Abstract
El presente trabajo de título trata del estudio de los sistemas de mitigación de polvo de la planta de chancado de Sociedad Contractual Minera El Abra, se evalúa el funcionamiento de éstos y luego se generan propuestas y recomendaciones de mejora en los equipos e instalaciones. En primer lugar, se describe el proceso productivo de conminución de minerales sulfurados de cobre, que lleva a cabo la minera para su producción de cátodos de cobre y se define los límites de estudio de este trabajo. Luego, se estudia el concepto de polvo, la generación de éste en minería, sus consecuencias a la salud de los trabajadores a su exposición y la normativa vigente en nuestro país. Posteriormente se presentan los principales métodos, tecnologías existentes para prevenir y mitigar el polvo, y así conocer y estudiar los sistemas utilizados en la planta de chancado. Se realiza una comprobación del diseño de los sistemas colectores de polvo, a través del método de presión dinámica, para luego contrastarlo con mediciones en terreno y así evaluar la operación de los equipos. Finalmente se analiza el funcionamiento de los sistemas de mitigación de polvo, se realizan inspecciones en terreno de las zonas de trabajo para detectar falencias en los sistemas y luego generar las propuestas y recomendaciones de mejora, con fines de lograr un eficiente control de polvo en la planta de chancado.
The current thesis project is upon the study of the dust mitigation systems of the crushing plant of Sociedad Contractual Minera El Abra; the operation of these systems is evaluated and then generates proposals and recommendations for improvement in equipment and facilities. First of all, the productive process of comminution of copper sulphide minerals is described, which is carried out by the mining company for its production of copper cathodes and the study limits of this work are defined. Afterward, the concept of dust is studied, the generation of it in the mining sites, its consequences for the health of the workers to their exposure and the current regulations in our country. Subsequently, the main methods are presented, current technologies to prevent and mitigate dust, and therefore to know and study the systems used in the crushing plant. A design check of the dust collector systems is carried out, using the dynamic pressure method, and then to contrast it with measurements in the field and hence evaluate the operation of the equipment. Finally, the operation of dust mitigation systems is analyzed, field inspections take place in the work areas to detect failures in the systems and then generate the proposals and recommendations for improvement, in order to achieve an efficient control of dust in the crushing plant.
