Abstract
Title herein addresses the problem of efficient management of energy resources in the industry that arises from the increase in energy costs in recent years, and how to better manage through the implementation of a System Energy Management based on ISO 50001. This study aimed at establishing the basis for the implementation of a system based Energy Management in International Standard ISO 50001:2011 for a type enterprise of the chemical industry of construction, focusing on its core product lines and services. This approach can be considered cross and applicable to any other process industries. They conducted a detailed description of the use of global and national context of energy for the specific study. In particular form was carried out a review of the energy for the chemical company and a gap analysis study to determine any gaps that the firm has to meet the requirements of the ISO 50001 standard on energy efficiency. From this information was structured a framework that describes how to address each element in the rule to ensure their implementation in full. Finally, we estimated the potential savings that would result in the implementation of a system of energy management in the company evaluated the economic feasibility in terms of return and payback period of investment. The analysis of energy review shows that the company has a growth in energy demand by 5% annually, which shows the absence of management of energy resources and thus the importance of implementing a Management System for Energy based on the ISO 50001 standard in the short term. According to the analysis of the joint gap broadly meets only about 30% of the elements of ISO 50001. It was determined that when implementing the standard should be considered with greater emphasis stages Implementation and Operation Planning and given the importance of these stages to produce the expected benefits of ISO 50001. Economic evaluation of its implementation yields positive returns and a rapid return on investment.
