Abstract
En este trabajo se realiza un aporte a Ingeniería de Mantenimiento de la Planta de Filtros de
la empresa Codelco-Chuquicamata. Consiste en aplicar el proceso RCM al equipo crítico
de la instalación, para esto en primera instancia se debe crear un grupo de trabajo el cual
permita analizar y entender de mejor manera el funcionamiento de los sistemas y equipos
que componen el área de estudio. Entendiendo el contexto operacional de la planta, se
procede a realizar un análisis de criticidad, aplicando las herramientas tales como: Jack-
Knife, Pareto y Diagrama de Bloques de Confiabilidad, con la finalidad de poder
determinar el sistema crítico al cual se le aplicará el proceso RCM, así se optimizan los
recursos existentes en el conjunto que tiene el mayor impacto en la planta.
Tras realizar los test indicados, se determina a los Filtros Larox como equipo crítico, debido
principalmente a su mala mantenibilidad, altos tiempos de detenciones y altos costos de
mantenimiento. Antes de partir el proceso RCM se debe entender a cabalidad el contexto
operacional del filtro, por lo que se estudian aspectos como la operación, mantención,
monitoreo, componentes, seguridad y medio ambiente.
Al comprender el funcionamiento del Filtro se procede su división en sistemas y la
determinación de las funciones primarias y secundarias. Con estas funciones se puede
comenzar el análisis RCM, definiendo las fallas para cada función denominadas “fallas
funcionales”, junto a sus correspondientes modos de falla y describiendo su efecto en el
funcionamiento del filtro. Con el grupo de trabajo, teniendo como herramientas: el
diagrama de decisión RCM, el benchmarking y el modelamiento del comportamiento de los
componentes críticos bajo la distribución Weibull, se logran determinar las políticas de
mantenimiento, frecuencias y encargados para mantener al filtro y sus componentes.
Finalmente se propone, en el marco de este trabajo, un plan de mantenimiento para el
equipo crítico, junto con definir un conjunto de índices de medición y herramientas para la
mejora continua, tales como: el control de la disponibilidad y utilización de la planta,
indicador disponibilidad conjunto placas y un manual para el seguimiento de la
confiabilidad de los componentes críticos.

With the working group, having as tools: diagram RCM decision, benchmarking and behavior modeling of critical components under the Weibull distribution, we could determine maintenance policies, frequencies and responsible for maintaining the filter and their components. Finally the maintenance plan is proposed to critical equipment with some indices of measurement and tools such as control the availability and use of the plant availability plates set and manual tracking reliability.
