Abstract
La compañía minera Lumina Copper se encuentra realizando diversas actividades, en el marco del plan Lumina 2020, con el objetivo de disminuir los costos de sus procesos y así aumentar la rentabilidad de sus operaciones. En el caso de la planta de flotación selectiva del proyecto Caserones, los focos han estado en la estandarización de sus procesos y en la disminución del consumo de su principal reactivo, el depresante de cobre: Sulfhidrato de sodio o NaHS. Por este motivo, el principal objetivo del presente estudio es analizar el efecto de este reactivo, y así evaluar las opciones existentes para disminuir su uso, sin impactar de forma negativa el resultado de la planta. Para lograr esto, en un periodo total de 8 meses, se observó la relación entre su dosificación y el potencial ORP, se estudiaron diversas condiciones de operación en el laboratorio y se evaluó en planta el efecto de la concentración del depresante.
