Abstract
En la presente tesis se ha elaborado un estudio actualizado de las diversas variables que afectan la Inversión Extranjera Directa (IED) y que no son consideradas por las clasificadoras de Riesgo País al momento de generar sus índices. Dichas clasificadoras son enumeradas, nombrando cuales son las variables o factores que consideran al momento de confeccionar su índice.
Las variables estudiadas fueron extraídas de las publicaciones anuales “World Competitiveness Yearbook” de los años 2004, 2005 y 2006.
Estas variables expresan el grado de afinidad de la variable con el país. El estudio comprende un Análisis Factorial que logra determinar la influencia y agrupación de dichas variables en “factores principales” que contribuyen en la IED de un país.
Finalmente se realizó un Cluster, basado en el promedio de las variables seleccionadas al inicio del estudio. Es decir, a través de la obtención del promedio de los tres años en estudio de cada variable, se agrupan los países con mayor afinidad en función de las variables previamente seleccionadas. Determinado de esta manera aquellos factores que más influencias presentan en la IED y como se han comportado los diferentes países frente a estas variables.
This thesis presents an updated review of the many variables that affect Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) wich are not considered by the Country Risk rating at the time to generate their indices, such classifications are listed, mentioning what factors or variables are considered when the index is made. The variables were gotten from the annual publication "World Competitiveness Yearbook" of 2004, 2005 and 2006. These variables express the degree of country affinity with the variable. The study includes a factor analysis which determines their influence on country’s FDI and clustering in "Main Factors". Finally It was made a Cluster Analysis, based on the average of selected variables at baseline. It means obtaining of three years’ average for each variable and getting countries into groups with the highest affinity depending of previously selected variables. Thereby establishing those factors what have influence on FDI and the countries performance faced with these variables.
