Abstract
To address the lack of accessibility in the SAT-E system at the Universidad Técnica Federico Santa María (UTFSM), and to avoid perpetuating existing biases, this thesis proposes the design of a gender-sensitive interface. The solution integrates academic risk alerts with support actions, aiming to strengthen student retention and promote timely graduation. The developed prototype was validated through three methodologies. While most of the requirements associated with the identified student needs were met, the usability evaluation revealed opportunities for improvement in system consistency and visibility, in accordance with Nielsen’s principles, which are proposed as directions for future work.
