Abstract
We know that urban green areas are essential for the development of the city and for the well-being of citizens, since they provide us with spaces for recreation and connection with nature. In addition to multiple benefits for climate regulation. These natural landscapes are a fundamental support for biodiversity. Especially if we talk about a unique ecosystem such as the Sclerophyll Forest in central Chile, which has been radically reduced and degraded due to the lack of environmental education. On the border between Viña del Mar and Quilpué, there is the Fundo Rebaño Nativo, a private land, with a significant extension of sclerophyll forest and the Alto el Molle hill, which is the highest landmark in the sector, from which you can see the coast and the cities in the interior of Gran Valparaíso. Due to the constant violations of this land, the Fundo Rebaño Nativo Foundation and the owners of the farm contacted Professor Jorge León to investigate possible development strategies that allow the conservation of the area. Therefore, an urban park is proposed that is conceived as a natural refuge for the city, where the goal is to balance human interaction with nature. It should be a space for the population's recreation, for scientific research and dissemination, for the enjoyment and care of the forest. A panoramic cafeteria, squares or rest areas and paths that will guide visitors to the viewpoints at the summit of the Alto el Molle hill are planned in detail.
