Abstract
Over the past few years, industrial maintenance has progressively evolved towards condition-based monitoring strategies, incorporating non-destructive testing (NDT) techniques aimed at the early detection of faults and the evaluation of the operational status of assets. Among these techniques, airborne ultrasound has gained significant relevance due to its ability to detect acoustic emissions associated with phenomena present in mechanical, electrical, and fluid systems. This has allowed for the identification of anomalous behavior through real-time inspection processes without the need to disassemble the equipment. Despite the technical advantages it offers, a significant gap was identified within the training context, with the absence of standardized procedures geared towards learning and the pedagogical use of this equipment. This situation hindered the correct interpretation of acoustic phenomena, the proper configuration of measurement parameters, and the obtaining of comparable records among students, generating differences in the execution of measurements and limitations in the repeatability of the learning processes. In response to this need, the present work aimed to develop a standardized technical instruction manual for the operation and application of the SoundCam Ultra equipment, geared towards students of the University Technician and Industrial Maintenance Engineering programs(...).
