Abstract
To address the significant challenges facing reading comprehension in the Chilean education system, this work validates ARmadillo, an application that uses augmented reality and playful learning to support the reinforcement of this skill in first and second-grade students. The proposal was evaluated at the XXXII Feria de Software and in a real classroom setting with 34 students to determine its relevance and reception. The validation included direct observation and teacher feedback, both focused on key learning indicators such as student motivation and participation. The results show a high level in these indicators, along with a very positive assessment from the teacher in charge of the test, who highlighted the tool’s accessibility and its ability to capture interest. These findings support ARmadillo as a viable tool with high potential to enrich and support the reading comprehension reinforcement process in classroom.
