Abstract

The project is located in the commune of La Cruz, Province of Quillota, Valparaíso Region, within the Aconcagua Valley and in direct relation to its civic center and Plaza de Armas. The proposal begins with an analysis of the existing Municipality and its territorial context, addressed at the macro, meso, and micro scales, in order to understand the urban and spatial dynamics that shape its development. The problem arises from two main conditions: the growth of the commune and the current conditions of workplace well-being. Population growth and the expansion of municipal functions generate an increasing demand for space, while the existing infrastructure presents limitations in terms of area, organization, and adaptability. The problem is therefore understood as the need for infrastructure capable of accompanying the growth and changes of the institution. The objective is to design a flexible and adaptable municipality, capable of responding to both current and future needs. The intention is for architecture to adapt to change rather than for the program to be constrained by a rigid structure, improving working conditions, relationships between departments, and the connection with the community. The proposal establishes a transition from an isolated municipal building toward a civic infrastructure, organized through circulation and service cores that structure the building and allow the floor plans to be modified over time. Interior courtyards are incorporated as articulating elements that promote natural lighting, ventilation, permanence, and interaction, while also generating visual relationships between the different levels. The project incorporates (...).
