Abstract
The Active Optics system is a fundamental process for the telescopes in Paranal Observatory; for these reason, the implementation of modern soft-computing techniques for Active Optic’s log data analysis has been discussed. In this paper, a procedure was developed, that allows for Active Optic’s log data extraction and saving in structured datasets that grants the adoption of previously described techniques. The procedure returns data about correction iterations, force distributions of actuators under the telescope mirror, and images taken; stored in dedicated and related dataframes, taken under the certainty of the telescope’s correct operation. The number of data stored is lower than the number of log lines. In conclusion, the data obtained match quality expectations, and future works is aimed towards increasing the number of data obtained.
