Abstract
La evacuación horizontal en casos de tsunami no siempre es factible debido a que no todas las poblaciones tienen áreas seguras en sus cercanias. Se toma como caso de estudio la población Vergara en Viña del mar. La metodologia de desarrollo se encuentra dividida en 5 fases; en la primera se identificaron los posibles lugares de emplazamiento para infraestructura vertical, en la fase 2 se graficaron los candidatos en fichas con diversos parámetros, en la tercera fasese ponderaron las variables para clasificar los resultados, obteniendo 27 sitios, en la fase 4 se estudiaron las condiciones sociales que rodeaban a cada sitio para definir su programa en estado de normalidad, en la quinta fase se realizó un protoproyecto para cada sitio seleccionado para confeccionar el sístema de evacuación vertical. Finalmente se llegó a la conclusión de que la implementación de este sistema brindaría la capacidad para albergar al 100% de la poblaciónpermanente y flotante.
