Abstract
La identidad para un territorio forma parte fundamental para su desarrollo, yaque es este concepto el que aferra a la esencia del habitar. ¿De qué manera laidentidad se hace presente en cada uno de los habitantes de una localidad?La cultura, el factor más importante a la hora de generar identidad. La cual semanifiesta a través de manifestaciones artísticas, monumentos naturales, lascostumbres propiamente tal y el más relevante, el patrimonio. Como el caso deSan Esteban, una localidad rural y satélite, inmersa en una provincia netamenteurbana que la utiliza como “comuna dormitorio” año tras año. El patrimoniointrínseco ligado a la tierra y sus costumbres, que se traducen en manifestacionesinmateriales y ceremonias que fortalecen el arraigo a las tradiciones localesy las relaciones interpersonales, contribuyendo al reconocimiento de una identidadcomún.Es este arraigo a la tierra, donde la casa patronal adquiere un valor importante.Al rescatar sus orígenes pero a su vez, cambiar el concepto de “hacienda”,para que finalmente ésta revalorice paisajes, potencie portadas arqueológicasy entregue las herramientas necesarias para que el locatario se eduque y creaconciencia de lo importante que es mantener esta identidad rural que año trasaño se desvanece por falta de espacios públicos para el desarrollo de cada unode sus habitantes.

In which way identity becomes relevantin each member of a town?The culture, the most important element to create identity. Which manifests itselfthrough art forms, natural monuments, own customs, and the most relevant,heritage. As the situation of San Esteban, a rural and satellite town, immersedin a completely urban province which uses it as "bedroom town" year after year.The intrinsic heritage linked to the land and customs, resulting in intangiblemanifestations and ceremonies to strengthen the attachment to local traditionsand relationships, contributing to the recognition of a common identity.It is this attachment to the land, where the main house acquires an importantvalue. To rescue its origins but at the same time modify the concept of “property”,so finally it revalues landscapes, enhances archaeological covers and deliverthe necessary tools to tenants so the educate themselves and create awarenessof how important is to maintain this rural identity that vanishes year afteryear because of the lack of public spaces for the development of each if itsmembers.
