Abstract
The province of Chacabuco has been one of the most affected areas of the Santiago Metropolitan Region due to water scarcity and the intensive use of water resources that affects our country. Such effects have caused a sustained decrease in the levels of underground sources and, consequently, a sustained decrease in the exploitation capacity of underground sources located in these areas and, with it, the worsening of the quality of the water resource. Consequently, the efficient use of water resources through asset management and optimization is essential for the healthcare industry. Sacyr Agua Chacabuco S.A. is a concessionaire company that provides health services in the commune of Colina to more than 24,000 clients. Given the geographical location and availability of water resources, the production system is supplied 100% by underground sources; Finally, the need to design and implement that allows identifying vulnerabilities and gaps in the stages of production, actions and distribution of drinking water becomes relevant, with the aim of improving the water efficiency of the systems. With the objective of achieving water efficiency, the study focuses on optimizing the use of underground sources through their prioritization and on the effectiveness of the sectorization of the Aconcagua supply system through DMA, implemented by the company in the year 2021 through the GIR project. Finally, based on the results obtained, recommendations are established that will allow water efficiency to be achieved and transmitted as a responsibility at the company level, implicit in the corporate culture.
