Abstract

By 2020 there is a coupling with the new North Reserves sector, extending the life-of-mine of the sector by 19 years and reaching a production of 35 [ktpd]. Given the contribution that it corresponds to the division, the superintendence of strategic studies considers the need to give reliability to the production plans. To respond to this requirement, a discrete simulation model corresponding to the intermediate hauling level "Teniente 7" is built using the commercial software Arena. In this work, the methodology used for the construction of the model is detailed, as well as the phenomena and operational procedures considered. The validation of the model is carried out through a comparison with the production of the year 2019 and the approval of the experts of the system who accredited the model logic, obtaining errors of less than 5% in the estimation of production. The main results of the model are the estimation of cycle time as well as the estimation of the mine production on a given time. This allows to evaluate the maximum system capacity, fleet estimate and give reliability to the production plans
