Abstract
At the Gates of the XXI Century, the entire humanity prepares to attend the 4th industrial revolution. From this context, my research will seek to question this new and multifactorial reality on a national scale. Based on my approach, I can argue that we are facing a scenario with a low level of investment by National Companies, aimed at innovation. The principle behind it is that large companies do not detect the significant contribution behind the EBITDA of each organization, or what is the same, their research capital. Transformations occur at an ever-increasing speed, connectivity has formed a network on a planetary scale, unprecedented. The microclimate of maximum competitiveness is confirmed daily by new companies that, faced with the impossibility of adapting in real time to the new market demands, open and close their doors, devoured by their faster competitors. The maxim is imposed; that organization that does not reinvent itself and manages to adapt to face the changes that are coming, will be extinguished. In essence, change more than a challenge is a skill that all organizations need to develop to advance their objectives and not stagnate. Mismatches between the internal practices of a business and the environment endanger its competitiveness and survival. Nowadays, momentous changes occur often, so it is a challenge to adapt to them, since they occur at a faster rate than it is assimilated. In this context, you need to accelerate responsiveness to keep up. The basis for adapting to new environments is to identify changes and what they consist of in order to be up-to-date on what skills to acquire or what training to take. Adapting to a new environment implies being flexible, letting go of something, in this case old ideas or traditional strategies, which will lead to managing uncertainties. Changes in the business world occur regardless of whether organizations are prepared or not. Those that can adapt faster and better will be competitive and survive, those that are unable to do so will tend to disappear. Preparing for this environment is the key. This thesis aims to design a model that can be implemented in organizations in order to validate, through pilots, initiatives that help keep the organization in continuous adaptation to the changing environment in which it carries out its activity. For this, the model that has been applied in my company, Agrosuper, is taken as a reference. In its essence, it is about defining an applied model, a method, that allows to pre-evaluate the expected profitability (NPV TIR and contribution to EBITDA) of innovation projects. Next, a model will be developed that seeks to accompany the organization to not only be more profitable, but also to be sustainable over time.
