Abstract

The project "PCB for Data Acquisition in Real Time, to charge mobile devices with a photovoltaic system using the Microcontroller PIC18F2550 and USB serial interface" is designed to monitor variables in real time, as voltage, electric current and temperature of a PCB that allows load mobile devices through three USB ports powered by a photovoltaic system, which is composed by a solar panel, the load controller and a battery. Also, the PCB performs the communication and visualization of the mentioned variables to acquire through the serial interface a USB port on a PC or Notebook with a terminal RS232 program (e.g. Hercules, of HWGroup). The fields defined in programming the PIC18F2550 shows the voltage of the battery, the electric current consumed in the USB ports, the operation temperature of the board and other relevant actions to use PCB as connection, disconnection and the number of users who are loading mobile devices in it. Thus, the PCB should allow measuring physical variables of interest of the photovoltaic system and loading system, previously mentioned, through electric current sensors, voltage and temperature, as appropriate. In order to improve project implementation, as an alternative to the wired interface (interface Serial to USB) it develops a wireless solution between the receiver equipment and the microcontroller, using the "Bluetooth" HC-06 module. Since the plate is defined for data acquisition, applications such as control variables are beyond this particular project. However, the PCB can be used as a starting point for monitoring USB loading autonomous system for mobile devices using a web application.
