Abstract
Esta investigación se centra en el notable interés que despiertan las condiciones laborales de los pescadores artesanales en el puerto de Talcahuano, quienes arriesgan su vida a diario durante el proceso de descarga manual. A este desafío se suma el hecho de que los trabajadores de las piscifactorías sufren a menudo graves problemas de salud derivados del sobreesfuerzo físico inherente a estas operaciones. No obstante, ni los trabajadores ni sus familias reciben ningún tipo de compensación, ya que tienden a desempeñarse en la informalidad, quedando fuera del alcance de los sistemas nacionales de protección laboral y social. En consecuencia, el presente proyecto propone un marco ético orientado a beneficiar a las personas que ejecutan dichas maniobras de descarga. El objetivo es mitigar la fatiga física mediante la propuesta de implementación de un sistema de cinta transportadora en el puerto de Talcahuano. Asimismo, esta propuesta busca impulsar una mejora económica dentro del mercado al reducir la pérdida de producto generada durante la manipulación manual. Los resultados de este proyecto demuestran que se trata de una inversión rentable a largo plazo, aplicable a diversos sectores de la industria pesquera nacional
This research focuses on the significant interest regarding the working conditions of artisanal fishers in the port of Talcahuano, who risk their lives daily during the manual unloading process. Added to this challenge is the fact that workers in fish farms often suffer from severe health issues resulting from the physical overexertion inherent in these operations. However, neither the workers nor their families receive any form of compensation, as they tend to work informally, remaining outside the scope of national labor and social protection schemes. Consequently, the present project proposes an ethical framework aimed at benefiting the individuals performing these unloading maneuvers. The objective is to mitigate physical strain by proposing the implementation of a conveyor belt system at the port of Talcahuano. Furthermore, this proposal aims to drive economic improvement within the market by reducing product loss generated during manual handling. The results of this project demonstrate that it is a profitable long-term investment, applicable to various sectors of the national fishing industry.
