Abstract
Las mallas geometricas son usadas en procesos de simulación para representar objetos que poseen distintas características, las cuales son propias de su naturaleza. Algunos de estos métodos no son capaces de representar ciertas características finas que poseen estos objetos. Este trabajo introduce un algoritmo de deteccion y representación de caracteristicas finas para generar mallas de volumen de elementos mixtos basado en octrees. La tecnica propuesta es utilizada en distintos dominios y un analisis es realizado en función de la representación de las características y la calidad de los elementos.
Geometric meshes are used in simulation processes to represent objets that have different features that are specific to their nature. Some of this methods are not capable of represent certain sharp features of this objects. This work introduces an algorithm for detection and representation of sharp features to generate mixed-element volume meshes based on octrees. The proposed technique is employed over different domains and an analysis of the results is performed in terms of feature representation and element quality.
