Abstract
An exhaustive electromagnetic propagation measuring campaign is done to testthe applicability of well know microcell path-loss models on pico- and femto-cells,with a range of only a few hundred meters, located in street canyon environments.Besides evaluating the validity of these models, the problem of calculating receivedpower from path-loss information by choosing the appropriate antenna gain is analyzedas in this type of environments the eective antenna gain can dier from themaximum values for some links. Relative location of base-station and user terminalon both sides of the street is also analyzed.Main results show that the best way to predict received power inside these cellsis by taking the WINNER+ model prediction and maximum gain value to calculatereceived power. Relative location of base station and terminal does not have asigni cant impact on this prediction.
