Abstract
Running is a sport that has had an explosive growth during the last years worldwide. Chile has not been oblivious to this phenomenon and according to it, over the years, there are many people who have opted for this sport. Similarly, the number of competitions and races have progressively increased in conjunction with the number of participants and runners, and we can identify 5 groups, according to the characteristics of the careers. This classification is based on the specific discipline and the motivation of the same, obtaining as a result urban recreational careers, urban competitive careers, urban social careers, competitive outdoors careers and recreational outdoors careers. The vast majority of these competitions have the sponsorships or sponsorship of any brand, company or company, in that sense, the money that companies invest in the field of running, either directly or indirectly is considerable, so they must get benefits by participating in these activities. It is necessary to consider that many of these companies commission the accomplishment of this type of events to a company producer of sport events. As you can group the races or competitions, you can also make a profile of the corridor, according to the habits of the same regarding their practice and participation. In this scenario, 4 clusters of corridors and one of non-corridors are obtained through a cluster analysis. Among the first, there are experts, semipro, renegades and recreational. Each of them have different characteristics, differentiating mainly by the number of participations in events, the constant practice of this sport and the importance of the brand for them. Considering this, it is observed that the semipro corridors are the group with the highest rank, followed remotely by recreationalists, experts and renegades. By taking into account the types of runners, the races that are developed and the characteristics of these, it is concluded that the main focus to organize a running event must be in the first place in the cluster of semipro corridors and after that in the recreational corridors. It is these groups that can obtain the greatest benefits for the principal, since in spite of incurring greater expenses due to their desires in the race, they are also those that participate to a greater extent, being of massive character in many occasions, what to in turn, it generates the interest of other companies to be present at these events. It should be mentioned that if other companies outside the principal of the run do not participate, monetary losses are incurred for the production of the event in question, which can be compared with the benefits that will be obtained by the development of the same. These losses can reach 55 million pesos, depending the type of race and the characteristics of the same. Each type of runner has an ideal career, where the product, the price, the place where it develops and the advertising differs, so to reach each type you must generate a special strategy for them, including one of promotion. On the other hand, there are industries with a greater presence in this type of events, such as hydration and sportswear, these must opt for penetration strategies and market development according to the type of runner that are focused. In the same way, they must follow competitive strategies according to the positions they have in the market. It is concluded then from the analysis of the industry and the runner of running events, that the events of this sport generate benefits for the participating companies, being able to be this as much economic as in concept of image. Since the objectives of companies are to improve their position and image in the market, the main focus of semipro runners and recreational runners, since these are the ones that congregate a greater number of people and allow a greater amount of revenue. However, these will be positive only if the company generates the necessary alliances so as not to have to deal with production expenses alone, since otherwise the immediate benefits obtained will only be in the image of the brand.
