Abstract
El trabajo de titulación que se presenta a continuación, tiene como título “Estrategias de mantención de sellos mecánicos para bombas centrífugas orientadas a los requerimientos de refinería de petróleos”.La tecnología ha llevado a que hoy en día se diseñen la mayoría de los equipos con sello mecánico, ya que este dispositivo minimiza la posibilidad de falla de montaje y pérdida de producto a la atmosfera. Los usuarios de equipos que trabajan con el sistema de prensa estopa no manejan la información como para seleccionar un sello mecánico para sus equipos.El propósito de este trabajo es orientar de la mejor forma a un ingeniero, de manera que pueda tomar la mejor decisión en la selección de un sello mecánico para su equipo instalado en una planta, considerando sus condiciones operacionales de producto, presiones de trabajo, dimensiones de diseño por tabla proporcionado por el fabricante de sello mecánico.Lo primero es poder explicar que es un sello mecánico, donde se usa y para qué sirve y su funcionamiento.Con este trabajo resolveremos la problemática a la que se enfrentan los ingenieros de mantención en cuanto a cuál es el que sello más adecuado para sus equiposUna vez adquiridas estas herramientas podemos concluir para hacer una selección de un sello mecánico para la aplicación, tomando en cuenta los parámetros operacionales del equipo en planta y parámetros de selección de su metalurgia por intermedio de tablas establecidas por el fabricante de sello mecánico y de esta manera concluir en buscar la mejor opción de sellado para un equipo que está generando excesivos gastos de mantención. Esto se traducirá en una mejora del tiempo entre falla e identificación del problema y como solucionarlo.Se ha detectado que un equipo dentro de la refinería de Enap Aconcagua ha generado gastos por 60.000 dólares anuales en reparación de sello mecánico ya que su tiempo medio entre falla (MTBF) es de dos meses, es decir, 6 fallas por año y un sello mecánico está diseñado para que en condiciones normales su tiempo entre falla sea cercano a los dos años.En relación a esta problemática, este trabajo de titulación con las herramientas a presentar podrá identificar la problemática de este sello mecánico, entregar una solución con el fin de aumentar el tempo entre falla y para eso es indispensable poder hacer un estudio de los sellos mecánicos dinámicos para bombas centrifugas, sus componentes, tipos de sellos, su funcionamiento, los parámetros de sellados, sellos simples, dobles y sus planes de lubricación. Por último identificaremos algunas causas de fallas de los sellos mecánicos lo que nos permitirá dar una solución a la problemática existente.
