Abstract
Hoy en día el concepto de minería sustentable esta muy de moda y todos los países buscan de alguna manera acercarse a los más altos estándares en este sentido. Entre ellos, Chile tiene un gran desafío tanto en mejorar su relación con la comunidad como con el medio ambiente y para ello es necesario investigar ejemplos en países que han podido abordar estas problemáticas de forma exitosa.
Un caso particular, el cual representará la base de este trabajo, es el modelo de minería verde que está impulsando
Finlandia, el cual se resume en:
1. Producir minerales de una forma eficiente tanto en lo material como en lo energético.
2. Identificar nuevos depósitos de materiales y desarrollar soluciones ecológicas para utilizarlos.
3. Minimizar los impactos ambientales a lo largo de la cadena de producción
4. Desarrollo de nuevos métodos y formas de trabajar
5. Que se cumpla con la restauración de las áreas afectadas después de terminar la operación
6. Mejorar la comunicación con los actores locales
En este trabajo se estudiará la implementación de un sistema de gestión que permita medir qué tan sustentable son las actividades que se desarrollan entorno a la minería, premiar a los mejores evaluados e identificar las falencias que tienen las empresas con evaluaciones mas bajas. El sistema contará con una variedad de KPI’s divididos por eje sustentable: económico, social y medio ambiental, aprovechando la información que se puede recabar desde las redes sociales, workshop regionales y encuestas georeferenciadas.
Today the concept of sustainable mining is very popular and all countries are seeking closer to the highest standards in this regard. Among them, Chile has a great challenge to improve its relationship with the community and the environment, so it is necessary to investigate examples in countries that have been solve these problems successfully. A particular case, which will represent the basis of this work is the Finnish model of green mining, which is summarized in: 1. Produce minerals in an efficient way in the material and energy 2. Identify new deposits of materials and develop environmentally friendly solutions. 3. Minimize environmental impacts along the production chain 4. Development of new methods and ways of working 5. Restore the affected areas after the end of the operation 6. Improve communication with local actors In this work there will be studied the implementation of a management system that allows to measure the sustainability of the activities that develop in the mining industry, to reward the best evaluated ones and to identify the failings that have the companies with lower evaluations. The system will have variety of KPI’s, divided by sustainable axis: economic, social and environmental, taking advantage of the information that can be obtained from the social networks, workshop and surveys georeferenced.
