Abstract
La señalización digital es un paradigma que implementa soporte digital para desplegar información. Las entidades que cuentan con equipos, como televisores, y desean aprovecharlos para posicionar estratégicamente sus mensajes, suelen recurrir a soluciones ofrecidas por empresas especializadas en gestión de contenidos digitales. Un caso particular es el de la Universidad Técnica Federico Santa María, que actualmente depende de un proveedor externo para implementar su señalización digital. Si bien esta solución es funcional, presenta limitaciones significativas, como la falta de personalización y la pérdida de soberanía sobre sus propios activos digitales. Esta dependencia de un servicio tercerizado está presente pese a que la implementación interna de una plataforma propia es una alternativa factible y estratégica para brindar autonomía a la universidad. La solución propuesta desarrolla un sistema que ofrece una plataforma basada en la web, permitiendo a operarios del área de comunicaciones programar y crear proyectos de señalización digital a través de una interfaz intuitiva, construida con tecnologías como JavaScript, HTML y FFmpeg. Un usuario administrador tiene control centralizado sobre las cuentas de usuario y la configuración general del servicio. Además de la plataforma, se contempla alguna integración con dispositivos digitales finales, como televisores.

Entities that have equipment such as televisions and wish to strategically position their messages often turn to solutions offered by companies specialized in digital content management. A particular case is that of Universidad Técnica Federico Santa María, which currently relies on an external provider to implement its digital signage. Although this solution is functional, it presents significant limitations, such as the lack of customization and the loss of sovereignty over its own digital assets. This dependence on outsourced services persists even though internal implementation of a proprietary platform is a feasible and strategic alternative to provide autonomy to the university. The proposed solution develops a system that offers a web-based platform, allowing communications department operators to schedule and create digital signage projects through an intuitive interface, built with technologies such as JavaScript, HTML, and FFmpeg. An administrator user has centralized control over user accounts and general service configuration. In addition to the platform, integration with final digital devices, such as televisions, is also considered.
