Abstract
In the present study, the technical-economic evaluation of the Maule mini-hydroelectric power plant in the Maule region, with a variable net height between 1.31 to 8.01 m and a flow of 30 m3 / s. This mini power plant could deliver on average about 4.7 GWh of annual power to the central interconnected system with an installed power capacity of 0.7 MW. To meet the objective of the study of the project, you can see the analysis of the annual figures of the sector and the hydraulic study to determine the height of the water that is inside the Siphon Maule, the pressure losses and the dimensions of the civil works as Control, security and maintenance structures. Once the hydraulic conditions proceeded to identify and analyze the alternatives compatible with the project, selection of turbine, gates, bars, etc. It is a decision of Colbún S.A. evaluate the VLH, DIVE and Kaplan Horizontal turbines for the project.
