Abstract
Todos queremos ser más felices y todo lo que realizamos tiene ésto como finsubyacente. Actualmente existen diversas actividades que ayudan a que las personassean más felices, que van desde intentar sonreír con mayor frecuencia hastaactividades que provocan un cambio completo en el estilo de vida de las personas. Sinembargo, existen muy pocas aplicaciones informáticas orientadas específicamente aincrementar la felicidad de las personas.En este documento se detalla la realización de un experimento cuyo objetivoes incrementar la felicidad de las personas al jugar un videojuego móvil donde seutiliza la sonrisa del jugador como método de interacción entre el usuario y elvideojuego.Los datos obtenidos a través del experimento tienen relación con las sesionesde juego de los usuarios y sus puntuaciones de felicidad, donde éstos entreganinformación acerca de cuánto tiempo los usuarios estuvieron jugando el videojuego,cuánto de este tiempo estuvieron interactuando con los componentes diseñados paraincrementar la felicidad y sus niveles de felicidad al comienzo y al final delexperimento. De acuerdo a estos datos, los usuarios luego de haber jugado elvideojuego incrementaron su nivel felicidad levemente como consecuencia del uso desu sonrisa y de su interacción con el videojuego.
We all want to be happier and everything we do has this as an underlyingpurpose. Currently there are several activities that help people to be happier, whichrange from trying to smile more frequently, to activities which change completely thepeople’s life style. However, there are very few application programs createdspecifically to increase people’s happiness.This document details a study which main objective is to increase people'shappiness level when they play a mobile videogame where their smile is used tointeract with it.The data obtained through this experiment are related to the users’s gamesessions and their happiness scores. These data contain how long it took each playerto finish the game, how much of that time he or she was interacting with thecomponents designed for increasing happiness and the happiness levels for eachplayer at the beginning and end of the experiment. According to these data, usersafter finishing the videogame experienced a slight increase in their happiness as aconsequence of the use of their smile and their interaction with the videogame.
