Abstract
In June 11, 2012, the Chilean government passed a bill which reformed the requirements to set up telecommunication antennas. Due to the new regulation, the environment for the construction companies which build an infrastructure of mobile communication was reshaped. The requirements that telecommunications companies should follow increased and because of that, the volume of spots where to build new infrastructure expected was reduced. The construction companies which operated in the market of telecommunications until the promulgation of the law faced two options: adjusting to the new requirements or disappear. This study analyzes the risk that one particular company took: adjusting to the new landscape and it turn into an infrastructure management company instead a construction company. This change means that it will stop to build mobile communication infrastructure to other companies, but it will construct for itself with the main goal to rent the space for telecommunication companies. This change will reshape the final product, but not its construction operations. With this reframe, this company will not sell infrastructure anymore, but will offer spots and services for rent to mobile companies.
