Abstract
El cambio climático experimentado por el planeta ha provocado una disminución de las fuentes de extracción de agua dulce debido al déficit de precipitaciones y desertificación de los suelos. Particularmente en Chile se ha experimentado una mega sequía, generando la necesidad urgente de avanzar hacia una mejor gestión del agua y la búsqueda de nuevas fuentes de este recurso. En esta línea, se propone la utilización de tecnologías de cosecha de agua atmosférica, que permite recolectar el agua presente en la atmósfera como vapor de agua, no afectando al medio ambiente ni consumiendo ningún tipo de recurso hídrico convencional a diferencia de los métodos existentes. Considerando el contexto de sequía a nivel nacional, se seleccionó la comuna de La Ligua en la provincia de Petorca en la V región de Chile, ya que es la más afectada por este fenómeno.
The climate change experienced by the planet has caused a decrease in the sources of freshwater extraction due to the deficit of precipitation and desertification of soils. Particularly in Chile, a context of mega drought has been experienced, generating the urgent need to advance in a better water management and to look for new sources of this resource. In this line, the use of atmospheric water harvesting technologies is proposed, which allows collecting the water present in the atmosphere as water vapor, without affecting the environment or consuming any type of conventional water resource, as opposed to the existing methods. Considering the drought context at the national level, the commune of La Ligua in the province of Petorca in V region was selected, since it is the most affected by this phenomenon.
