Abstract
La planta GNL Quintero, ubicada en la Bahía de Quintero, V Región de Valparaíso,
Chile.
medioambientales hostiles.
GNL Quintero is the first land-based Terminal for the reception, unloading, storage and regasification of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) in the southern hemisphere. Situated in Quintero Bay, Valparaíso Region, Chile. Nowadays the Terminal has three onshore tanks, with a total storage capacity of 334,000 m3, three open rack vaporization trains and a LNG Truck Loading Facility. Due to rainwater runoff that generates constant landslides, gullies have been formed in slope that provide shelter to essential areas inside the Terminal. The objective is analyze the different types of protection and stabilization for slope through the existing geotechnical soil investigation in order to evaluate the best technic/economic alternative and geomechanic variables correlate each soil types with observed surface deterioration and erosion This Dissertation provides tools to identify critical areas for landslides and solutions for collection and conduction of rainwater, incorporating new technology in controlled flow channels systems situated in a hostile environmental agents region.
