Abstract
transaccional a nivel Latinoamericano.
The present thesis is the development of a guide for Manufacturing SMEs to export footwear to Latin America. The main objective is to provide domestic SMEs, who already produce and sell shoes in Chile, with a tool that allows them to analyze at least one of the variables to consider when deciding whether or not to export a product to a Foreign Market; analytically displaying the most interesting markets from a transaction perspective in Latin America. To do this, we analyzed the sustained bilateral foreign market between Chile and each of the block countries during the last four years, by type of exportation, and sales of sector and subsector. This work consists of three sections, described below: 1. Methodology: Explains how the context of this guide was structured and defined; the guide being the corresponding final document that will serve the exporter and that is principally focused on the documental and logistical aspects related to the international product delivery to selected countries. 2. Development Topic: contains the theoretical framework, the state of the art with regards to documents and existing current alternatives for a SME to support its export process; the following questions were used to investigate: why export? Why SME’s? Why the manufacturing sector? Why Latin American markets and why to certain countries? Why to the subsector of leather and footwear? 3. Finally, the conclusions show the obtained results, along with some respective future research recommendations.
