Abstract
Gran parte de las instituciones de educación superior de nuestro país, han
orientado los planes de estudio de sus carreras hacia el enfoque basado en competencias
para lograr una mayor sintonía con la demanda laboral. El Departamento de Informática
de la USM, no ajeno a lo anterior, ha definido el perfil de egreso para Ingeniería Civil
Informática con este enfoque. Las competencias quedan articuladas con los resultados de
aprendizaje declarados en los programas de las asignaturas del plan de estudio, y son
medidos a través de diversas actividades evaluativas. Para la mejora continua de la carrera
es relevante monitorear en forma sistemática el logro por parte de los estudiantes de los
resultados de aprendizaje, de tal manera de detectar desviaciones para realizar en forma
oportuna los ajustes pertinentes que aseguren que los estudiantes alcancen el perfil
declarado. Se cuenta con un “Informe de Cierre de Asignaturas”, que cada profesor
genera manualmente a fines de cada semestre, pero no existe un sistema que almacene
estos informes y genere indicadores que agilicen el monitoreo por parte de los directivos
de la carrera. En esta memoria se desarrolla un sistema basado en Inteligencia de
Negocios para monitorear el logro de los resultados de aprendizaje, a partir de un
dashboard construido en PowerBI que muestra indicadores extraídos de los informes de
cierre de asignaturas.
Big part of the institutions of higher education in our country have oriented the curricula of their careers towards the competency-based approach to achieve greater harmony with labor demand. The Department of Informatics of the USM, not alien to the above, has defined the profile of progress for Civil Engineering with this approach. The competences are articulated with the learning outcomes declared in the curricula of the subjects of the curriculum, and are measured through various evaluation activities. For the continuous improvement of the career, it is important to systematically monitor the students achievement of the learning results, in such a way to detect deviations to make the relevant adjustments in a timely manner to ensure that the students reach the declared profile. There is a "Subject Closure Report", which each teacher generates manually at the end of the semester, but there is no system to store these reports and generate indicators that expedite monitoring by the directors of the race. In this report, a system based on Business Intelligence is developed to monitor the achievement of learning outcomes, based on a board built in PowerBI that shows indicators taken from the subject closure reports.
