Abstract
In every modern industrial plant one of the most sensitive and important topicswhen it comes to keeping the production of all the processes running is the electricitysupply. This is why it is vital to have a remote control and monitoring system in chargeof supervising the status of the instrumentation within the electrical substations. In the present project, the integration of different electrical substations to a monitoringand acting network is designed and implemented remotely, with the objective offacilitating the administration of a mining plant’s power supply, allowing the openingand closing of its power switches for each power line remotely, in addition to monitoringthe current status of the same. To achieve the objectives set, new electroniccontrol devices are integrated into the plant, their respective configurations, the communicationprotocols to be used are presented, the software involved for the design ofthe HMI screens and a control logic design for the action on the switches. Finally, the final results of the complete system, the tests, conclusions and contributionsof the work compared to its previous operation are presented.
