Abstract
El presente trabajo de memoria de título tiene como objetivo principal la elaboración de planes de mantenimiento para los equipos críticos del área de chancado de una planta concentradora de cobre ubicada en Tambillos, Región de Coquimbo, utilizando como base metodológica el Mantenimiento Centrado en Confiabilidad (RCM). Este enfoque busca garantizar una mayor disponibilidad operativa, optimizar la utilización de recursos y reducir los eventos de falla no planificada que afectan la continuidad productiva. La planta concentra su operación en una línea de chancado compuesta por un chancador primario de mandíbula, un chancador secundario de cono y un chancador terciario también de cono. Mediante un análisis de criticidad basado en criterios como impacto en la producción, frecuencia de fallas y consecuencias operativas, estos equipos fueron clasificados como activos críticos. A partir de ello, se desarrolló un estudio detallado de sus sistemas y componentes, identificando funciones, fallas funcionales, modos de falla y efectos asociados. Para cada componente principal se aplicó la metodología AMFE (Análisis Modal de Fallos y Efectos), permitiendo priorizar los riesgos operacionales y orientar la toma de decisiones. Posteriormente, se utilizó el árbol de decisiones RCM para definir tareas específicas de mantenimiento. Los resultados evidencian una proyección de reducción en las horas de detención no planificadas, un aumento estimado de la disponibilidad operacional y una mayor eficiencia en el uso de recursos técnicos. Finalmente, se establecen e implementan planes de mantenimiento por equipo con sus respectivas frecuencias, tareas asociadas y fundamentos técnicos a software de gestión de activos, proporcionando una herramienta aplicable y sustentable para la gestión del mantenimiento en la planta.
The present thesis project aims to develop maintenance plans for the critical equipment in the crushing area of a copper concentrator plant located in Tambillos, Coquimbo Region, using Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) as the methodological foundation. This approach seeks to ensure higher operational availability, optimize resource utilization, and reduce unplanned failure events that affect production continuity. The plant’s operation is focused on a crushing line composed of a primary jaw crusher, a secondary cone crusher, and a tertiary cone crusher. Through a criticality analysis based on criteria such as production impact, failure frequency, and operational consequences, these machines were classified as critical assets. Based on this, a detailed study of their systems and components was conducted, identifying their functions, functional failures, failure modes, and associated effects. For each component, the Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) methodology was applied to prioritize operational risks and support decision-making. Subsequently, the RCM decision logic tree was used to define specific maintenance tasks. The results show a projected reduction in unplanned downtime, an estimated increase in operational availability, and greater efficiency in the use of technical resources. Finally, maintenance plans are established and implemented for each equipment with their respective frequencies, associated tasks and technical foundations to asset management software, providing an applicable and sustainable tool for maintenance management in the plant.
