Abstract
This research addresses the implementation of new training packages at San Antonio Terminal Internacional (STI), Chile's main port terminal, focusing on change management and mitigation of resistance during the process. The project, developed in collaboration with the Industrial and Mining Training Center (CEIM), represents a pioneering initiative in the Chilean port industry to standardize training processes. This analysis will be based primarily on Truck Operators, as well as including information on Supervisors, STS Crane Operators, Container Crane Operators and Foremen. To carry out the change management study, a mixed methodology combining both qualitative and quantitative data collection techniques is implemented. In the qualitative aspect, exploratory interviews, semi-structured interviews and focus groups are conducted, while in the quantitative approach, satisfaction and effectiveness surveys are applied. This methodological framework allows for a comprehensive evaluation of the operational processes and their main actors. The findings of the study will provide valuable information for optimizing the implementation of training packages, identifying areas for improvement and establishing effective strategies for change. The project offers a structured and practical approach that can be adopted by various organizations in the port sector to improve their operational processes, thus contributing to increase their efficiency and competitiveness in the market.
