Abstract
The present memory presents a Conceptual Master Plan for the Airport Diego Aracena of Iquique, in which the bases for a growth planned arriving until his Maximun expansion is shown. For the development of a Master Plan, national and international norms for the design of aerodromes are due to consider, it is for this reason that DAR14 was used for the purpose of providing the geometric characteristics that the airport must have, and this way to satisfy the requirements of the users. The fleet that operates at the airport was analyzed and A320 was considered as the critical airplane, the possibility of a change of fleet is due to consider according to as the movement of load of the airport behaves, that allows to have greater operations of cargo airplanes of the Boeing type 767 and 747. As generals antecedent to be mentioned, the airport is located 45 km to the south of the city of Iquique, its passengers Terminal has 4,670 m2, their runway has a length of 3,350 m.s and is 45 wide, it counts witha parallel running and two exits. 4D is classified according to the OACI norm. The airport belongs to the main network of the country and transports 5% of the passengers. The present annual demand is of 436,518 passengers and 24,633 annual operations. The projections were made on the basis of three sceneries, for the study of this memory considered the moderate scene, which gives a growth of an annual 6%. The projected passengers for the year 2035 would reach 2.657.566 and 149.968 air operations a year. Along with this the load transport was projected, which would reach 52,881 tons a year. An analysis of the existing capacity versus the demand of the airport users was done, reaching the conclusion that in short term the extension of the passengers Terminal is due to be considered in addition to the increase of the boarding bridges, since this last one is one of the main variables in the hour capacity of the airport. The development of the airport considers the extension of the passengers Terminal in four stages, including other remodelings of the airport, such as, the relocation of the control tower and the DGAC building. In addition to extensions of the platform, the creation of a platform for the Cargo Terminal and the general aviation activity, and other facilities like roads and accesses, the service facilities and land reserve for future extensions are to be considered.
