Abstract
Innovation is a widespread and popular topic in companies today However, fewhave managed to systematize it within their processes, adopting management modelsbased on this phenomenon. AIC is a company dedicated to innovation that hasdeveloped its own model to guide the way of working in it.AIC is a leader in high-impact projects, which have been hampered by the factthat its proprietary, Integrated Objectives Model (IOM) is still under development andhas no clear methodologies for its follow-up stages, which consider moving from alaboratory prototype to a functional one, with the capabilities to operate on field. The proposal is to modify the model, studying its operation and that of thecompany, to arrive at the appropriate methodologies that complement the early stages ofIOM. An FMECA methodology was used combined with a V-management model, encouraging planning and controlling project execution, which sought to improve theoperational continuity of the equipment.A simulation of the application of the proposal to the developing project ofAIC with the Chilean Government, "Potable water for all" was made, resulting insavings of $5,254,825 in the first installation, which means savings of 15% of the projectimplementation costs as well as better reception by the beneficiated communities. Theapplication of FMECA evidenced the lack of a systematization of the previous work, exposing an extensive list of faults, from which it was determined that many could havebeen avoided. This result was also validated with a survey of a member of thecounterpart, which supports the diagnosis made and validates the proposed solution. The proposed modification to IOM will allow AIC to ensure the fulfillment ofits objectives in the development of new projects, since this means to completely carryout the innovation process, starting from the stage of development of an idea to endingwith the installation of a pilot plant.
