Abstract
In this report, the operation of a Riles plant of a recycling paper company is analyzed, which aims to reduce its current operating cost, and improve the quality of its effluents. To meet the objectives different technologies are analyzed, and improvements to be implemented among them, which highlights artificial wetlands, as well as ion exchange equipment. Wetlands will initially be used as a prefilter treatment in order to remove impurities from the water, for subsequent treatment with ion exchange equipment. The potential of artificial wetlands as a possible solution is analyzed due to its low operating cost, as well as its safety with the environment, which would save most of the costs of water treatments, also improve the aesthetics of the industrial plant, considering which is in a predominantly agricultural area. From the ion exchange treatment, to separate dissolved ions, a separate study was carried out with a scale plant, in which the procedures are detailed, as well as the conclusions obtained, the rest of the information is reserved by the company. From the information obtained, the improvement of operating cost will be analyzed, since the projected plant concentrates the largest portion of the cost in the disposal, therefore, an optimization will be sought that will reduce this cost of the future plant. It is possible to find a solution to the disposal by considerably reducing the disposal costs by 95%, in this way a cheaper operation is achieved when performing a post-treated with ion exchange method. Lowering the total cost in post-treated by 42%.
