Abstract
Mining is the most competitive and relevant activity for Chile, as it has the largest volume of copper resources and reserves known globally, making it one of the top copper producing countries. The Chilean mining business is facing high and growing pressures that increase the demands on its management capacity. There are threats in the environment that force managers to make decisions with a smaller margin of error. The uncertainty of the future in terms of low metal concentration grades, resource productivity gaps (especially in terms of people) and the regulatory space to increase environmental obligations are some of the risks that threaten the efficiency and cost control of mining companies operating in Chile. For this reason, it is necessary for mining companies to start analyzing various aspects related to their management. In this area, this thesis seeks the design and implementation of an operations management system to control the unitary process specifically of the blasting operation in "Operación Los Bronces", a project for Enaex Servicios S.A. (Empresa Nacional de Explosivos) in Los Bronces Plant. Together with the computer support, the aim is to digitalize the information and establish a control of the human resources, maintenance and services areas together with their translation into costs for each process based on compliance with the production plan initially proposed by the company. Five dashboards were created in the Microsoft Power BI platform, where two control the accreditations (of personnel and equipment) to be managed by the administrator and the other three control the operational indicators to be managed in the areas of human resources, maintenance and services. These tools allow management to visualize key data in real time and make decisions to improve operational efficiency and associated costs.
