PROPUESTA DE PROCEDIMIENTO OPERACIONAL DE UNA VIVIENDA SOCIAL PARA OPTIMIZAR SU EFICIENCIA ENERGÉTICA

Abstract

En el presente trabajo de memoria de título, se realizó una propuesta de procedimiento operacional, dirigido a los usuarios de las viviendas sociales, para lograr una optimización de su eficiencia energética en el hogar. Para ello y en forma preliminar, se investigó sobre el consumo de energía en Chile por sectores y por grupos socioeconómicos, además de identificar las principales problemáticas que tiene el país en cuanto a la energía consumida. El punto de interés es el sector residencial y el rango socioeconómico D y E, donde el foco es la vivienda social, ya que es el sector que menos acceso a la información tiene y menos recursos económicos para implementar mejoras en su hogar, además de ser el punto de inicio para poder instaurar el concepto de eficiencia energética, logrando ahorros monetarios que se reflejarían en un aumento de calidad de vida.Con un marco teórico identificado sobre el concepto de energía en el país y en los factores que inciden en su uso en las viviendas, se planteó como hipótesis que la mayoría de los habitantes de las viviendas sociales no ha tomado consciencia que su cuenta de electricidad seguirá aumentando al no tomar medidas de cómo mejorar y operar su vivienda de manera eficiente. Para comprobar la hipótesis, se realizó un cuestionario a un total de 51 personas entre niños, adultos y adultos mayores, del condominio llamado “Elemental de Valparaíso”, para dar respuesta a 6 preguntas de investigación relacionadas con el conocimiento que tienen los usuarios sobre el valor y uso de la energía, los electrodomésticos más comunes del hogar, y las acciones que realizan cuando sienten frío o calor.Se realizó un análisis cuantitativo y cualitativo de las respuestas obtenidas del cuestionario y se identificó que el 65% de los habitantes de las viviendas sociales no reconocen el concepto de energía, el 88% no poseen un conocimiento del consumo de sus electrodomésticos y no realizan de manera regular, 3 de 5 acciones eficientes con sus aparatos más comunes del hogar. Finalmente, con todo el análisis anterior y de acuerdo a lo identificado en los focos de investigación, se realizó una propuesta de procedimiento operacional, dirigido a los habitantes de las viviendas sociales, donde se espera que el usuario tome consciencia sobre su consumo real en la vivienda y sobre las acciones que podría aplicar en sus electrodomésticos básicos, sin incurrir en un gasto económico, para disminuir su consumo de energía, satisfaciendo de igual forma sus necesidades en el hogar.This final research work to complete the professional degree of Mechanical Engineer focuses on the development of a proposal for an operational procedure to aid the optimization the energy efficiency among occupants of social housing in Chile. To understand the use of energy in the residential sector, it was necessary to study and comprehend the energy consumption patterns by sectors and socio-economic groups, in order to identify the main problems that the country has in terms of energy consumption in homes. Then, the attention and interest concentrated on the residential sector identified by a socioeconomic rank as “D” and “E”, where social and low-income housing is concentrated. This decision was made based on the fact that this sector has less access to information and less economic resources to implement improvements in their home, besides it will be an starting point to spread the concept of energy efficiency emphasising savings which would also be reflected in improving the quality of life for these inhabitants.The literature review allowed us to identify the framework for the concept of energy in the country and the factors that influence its use in housing, stablishing the following hypothesis: The majority of the inhabitants of social housing are not aware that their electricity bill will continue to increase by not taking steps to improve and operate your home efficiently. To verify the hypothesis, a questionnaire was carried out for a total of 51 people, children, adults and older adults, who lived in the condominium "Elemental in Valparaíso", to respond to 6 research variables related to users' knowledge about cost and use of energy in homes and the most common household appliances, as well on the actions they perform when they feel cold or hot. A quantitative and qualitative analysis of the answers obtained from the questionnaire was carried out identifying that 65% of the inhabitants of social housing do not recognize the concept of energy, 88% do not have knowledge related to their appliances consumption and 3 out of 5 do not regularly use their most common household appliances in an efficient way. These analysis and the preliminary results led the study to develop a proposal for an operational procedure for inhabitants of social housing, which is expected to aid inhabitants to become aware of their actual energy consumption and the actions they could take to better choose and use their appliances, avoiding extra expenses as well as reducing their energy consumption in homes but equally satisfying their needs.
