dc.description.abstractChile is a country that has a history of mining industry over 100 years, Codelco Chile has among its most important divisions deposits as Chuquicamata and El Teniente, which they met a holding of more than 100 years. The most north Chilean region, has an economy that is supported on mineral production mainly copper and gold, in specific the Antofagasta region, has the largest copper production in the country as well as mining larger scale such as Chuquicamata and La Escondida. Currently the exploration stage that presents the country, has denoted that the ore deposits to date are being developed, will be production scales corresponding to those defined for the medium mining scale and there is a consensus choice in the market that large ore deposit would be in decline, has the increase input costs and operation costs have shown a sharp rise, studies show that in the course of last ten years, direct production costs have experienced a significant increase close to 170%.es_CL
